Subject: Harassment during the submission of Conveyance Deed papers for Stamping
Description: What should actually be 1 trip affair turned out to be three trip affair for allottees like me of DDA flats in their Housing Scheme 2010. And this was something that could have been easily avoided by simply sending out a sheet of instructions to allottees along with their Demand-cum-Allotment letter. Looks like DDA enjoys harassing innocent allottees.
1) The office of The Collector of Stamps is open for receiving Conveyance Deed papers only from 10AM - 1PM which an allottee under normal circumstances cannot be aware off unless (s)he anticipates it and checks the timing beforehand. 1st trip wasted as i visited their office around 2PM. What a pain?
2) Next day, when i went to deposit cash for Stamp Duty at their SBI branch, i was told that they do not accept cash in excess of Rs.50,000/- and i need to opt for an alternate mode of payment. 2nd trip wasted as i had to return with an appropriate instrument to deposit Stamp Duty. What a pain?
3) This was the final trip when i managed to get everything done after a lot of hustle and bustle. What a pain?
I strongly believe that DDA should be more sensitive to these issues and try to be more user-friendly to allottees. If things were handled better it would have been a win-win situation for everyone; yes of-course except for the commission agents and corrupt DDA officials.
