Subject: Harassment during submission of Conveyance Deed papers for Stamping
Description: DDA loves harassing innocent allottees...
I am a successful allottee of DDA Housing Scheme 2010. I had applied for a flat in my name and did not have any joint applicants. However, when i went to submit Conveyance Deed papers for Stamping at The Collector of Stamps office, i was told that as per the policy of DDA, the flat is allotted in joint name with spouse as the name of spouse appears on the CD papers in-spite of the fact that the joint applicant name on the CD papers clearly mentioned NA. Consequently, i was told to get the necessary correction on CD papers from the concerned DDA official and that i need to pay the Stamp Duty applicable for joint application.
That was utterly disgusting as i had applied for the flat in single name and there was no joint applicant. On my insistence, i was told to give an affidavit to compensate The Collector of Stamps if the same is not found true in future. Unnecessary paper work and harassment for me. I strongly disagreed to their demand, upon which they asked me to write a small statement on the forwarding letter itself requesting that i be charged Stamp Duty as applicable for a single applicant. Utter non-sense and unnecessary confusion for the allottee. What a pain?
DDA needs to buckle-up and needs to be more logical and methodical in their approach and user-friendly of-course.
