Subject: sent my vehicle for engine overhaul and paid R13000 no work done and now my radio stolen
Description:
in september 2010 i took in my vehicle to auto pro for an engine overhaul special which was advertised via street pamphlets which cost R1350. i left my vehicle in the hands of the manager who promised that my vehicle will be done as agreed. two days later he called me and informed me that my vehicle would cost me R13000 to be be 100% fixed, ie, engine overhaul and gear box recondition. on the 10 september 2010 i gave them the payment and received my car. two weeks later the vehicle started giving me problems and since i was offered 1 year guarantee unlimited kilometers, i took back my vehicle to them to fix the funny noise that came from the engine. up to now my vehicle has not been fixed and found out that it doesnt start now and my radio stolen from it. i opened theft case in pta police station. please help. they even took my payment receipts.

  1. this is clear cut a case of deficiency in service and cheating. you should file a complaint with the local governing and enforcement authority with appropriate claim for the damage to the car, harassment and pain you have gone through and the cost incurred in the entire process such as lawyer fees, court charges etc.

  3. i would also like to warm motorists around pretoria who would like to take their vehicles to this garage that they should be warned about this place, they ripped off a lot of customers and were never reported. it pains me that i cant even use the vehicle i paid lot of money for it to be fixed. they should rather take their vehicles to a garage that is registered with mio to avoid such pain i am going through.

  4. you need to file case with your local consumer court. there are normally consumer courts in every country to protect consumer rights.
