Caparo Group Chairman and Founder Lord Swraj Paul told PTI that "We thought there is a need for a good conference centre in the country.” He said there is a growing demand for such infrastructure. He said that "People from all over the world want to have conferences in India. India is becoming very attractive country for the world business ..."
Set amidst manicured lawns, the convention centre is named 'Ayatti', a derivative of a Sanskrit word that means majestic, noble, inspiring and plentiful. It is being given the finishing touches. Built with a capacity of hosting a party of 20,000 people, 'Ayatti' comprises a large hall, lounge, 17 meeting rooms, bars, cafes, restaurants, art gallery (12,000 square feet) and residential area (11 villas offering 59 rooms). It can accommodate around 20,000 people at a time and also has a spa and wellness centre, Paul, who has a passion for small details.
Though the group will cater to MICE segment in the country through this project, it does not have any plans to enter the burgeoning hospitality sector.
