Notice from consumer to a product / service owner is a key document in grievance redressal and hence needs to be meticulously drafted and appropriately served.

- The notice should be for the period of 10 days.
- The notice should be sent by registered post.
- The notice should be sent to the concerned official of the highest rank in the organization.
- A copy of the notice should be marked to the agent of the organization if applicable.
- The notice should be also sent by email to the concerned official of the highest rank in the organization and their agent if applicable.
- The notice should be copy pasted in the email rather than sending it as an attachment.
- CC support@ConsumerRightsMission.com in the said email which is considered as deemed authorization to us from you to deal in the matter on your behalf.
- The notice should essentially consist of four sections as specified under:
-- Section I: Provide details of the entire dispute.
-- Section II: Provide details of the suffering it has been for you so far.
-- Section III: Provide details of your plea justified with appropriate arguments.
-- Section IV: Provide details about enforcement actions that you intend to take in case the dispute is not resolved amicably within the said notice period.
- It is good to provide evidence in support of your arguments to justify your plea.
- Some of the actions that consumers can take in case their grievance is not suitably addressed are:
-- Filing a complaint with the consumer court.
-- Filing a complaint with the appropriate regulatory authority.
-- Filing a complaint with the appropriate consumer grievance redressal commission.
-- Filing a legal suit under appropriate sections of law in the trial court.
-- Filing a Right to Information (RTI) application if applicable.
-- Filing a complaint with police if so required.
-- Filing a complaint with Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) of the area.
-- Filing a complaint with online consumer forums.
-- Spreading the word on internet, social sites and by word-of-mouth to alert other consumers.
